When the utility cap was introduced, it featured an iron-on EGA insignia on the front of the crown. Caps were manufactured in sizes small, medium, large, and extra large. The contract label was printed on cheese cloth type material and located at the rear of the cap behind the sweat band. Army, Specification PQD 18B dated 8 April 1941. This cap continued into to be produced into the Korean War era. WWII manufacturing period: Jto June 7, 1945. Prior to assembling uniforms, HBT material was sanforized as part of the material manufacturing process to prevent shrinkage.
